Supply and animal welfare

We steadfastly believe in a shared framework of excellence that necessitates our suppliers to align with our vision, mission and values.

We have implemented demanding supplier certification and evaluation systems for both raw material and packaging suppliers. This includes comprehensive industrial testing to evaluate the quality of their products, and we mandate successful on-site audits before they can supply us.

Moreover, to ensure ethical conduct, integrity, and responsible practices, our suppliers are required to register on the SEDEX platform. Furthermore, adherence to our Code of Conduct by our suppliers is an essential requirement.

All our production and business activities are governed by law, thereby ensuring that we comply with the very highest standards.

Consumption of egg products produced at battery hen farms has been significantly reduced over the last four years, falling by almost 90% between 2019 and 2022, and Cerealto is committed to gradually reducing it even further over the coming years.

Our relations with egg product suppliers accounted for less than 0.26% of all the raw materials used in 2022. In 2023 we have been working to gradually reduce our egg product purchases in all our operations globally, and we have committed to reducing it by 10% in 2023, 50% in 2024 and 100% by 2025 compared to 2020.

We have successfully achieved a 12% reduction, surpassing the target set in March 2023. Our goal was to gradually decrease global egg product purchases by 10% across all our operations this year.

During 2023, we are working to reduce egg product sourcing gradually across our global operations, with a commitment to reduce by 10% by 2023, 50% by 2024 and 100% by 2025 compared to 2020. Currently, progress has already been made by 12%, exceeding the commitment we made in March 2023 to reduce egg product sourcing by 10% this year on a phased basis across our global operations.
