Venta de Baños, 29 September 2025.- Cerealto, a specialist third-party manufacturer of biscuits, breakfast cereals, cereal bars, corn and rice cakes, snacks, pasta and gluten-free bread, has published its 2024 Sustainability Report, highlighting measurable progress in its Strategic Sustainability Planand reinforcing its responsible, competitive business model, designed to generate a positive social, environmental and economic environment impact.
The document highlights the main ESG milestones achieved in 2024, a year in which Cerealto consolidated its profitable, sustainable growth model, with turnover up 6%to €526 million, and production volumes exceeding 243,000 tonnes - a 7% increaseon the previous year.

Good Governance: ethics, compliance and transparency
In 2024, Cerealto reinforced its governance and ethical culture with the approval of a new Sustainability Policy,the update of its Supplier Code of Conduct and enhanced training in criminal risk prevention. The companyalso adhered to the United Nations Global Compact,consolidating its commitment to protecting the planet, human rights, labour standards and the fight against corruption.
Better Product, Better Quality
As a third-party manufacturer, Cerealto maintains its commitment to quality and food safety across all its product lines. In 2024, 48 new products were launched and 138 formulation improvements appliedwith a particular emphasis on nutritional innovation and process efficiency.
The innovation team also contributed to industry platforms such as AECOC, FIAB o Food For Life, strengthening open collaboration networks with clients, universities and technology centers.
Sustainable Sourcing: responsible partnerships and ethical control
Building an ethical, local and resilient supply chain remains a central pillar of Cerealto’s sustainability strategy.In 2024, the company strengthened its responsible purchasing model, based on long-term relationships with suppliers aligned with the Group’s values.
Notably, 83% of purchases were made from local suppliers – up from 70% in 2023 - further supporting economic development in the communities where it operates.
Nature: carbon footprint, waste and circular economy
A major milestones in 2024 was the significant progress made in the decarbonisation strategy. For the first time, Cerealto verified its full carbon footprint across all three scopes, achieving a 10.5% reduction in CO2 emissions per tonne,alongside an absolute emission reductions of 3.4% in scopes 1 and 2. The decarbonisation plan is now firmly established as a strategic priority.
Self-generated renewable energy from photovoltaic installations exceeded 24,000 GJ in 2024. An energy efficiency plan was also launched, forecasting a 3% annual reduction in consumption.
The use of biogas generated from the treatment of sewage sludge and from the liquid by-product derived from the company’s plant processes, increased by 124%.
Cerealto’s commitment to the circular economy was further reinforced through its zero to waste landfill target, supported by third-party verification. The company achieved a recovery rate of 99.94% of the waste generated in its Spanish plants.
In addition, the new Sustainable Packaging Strategy 2025–2028was introduced, focusing on increasing the use of recyclable materials and reducing plastic film thickness.
Wellbeing: people and society
Cerealto also furthered its social impact agenda, strengthening its commitment to inclusive and local employment. In 2024, 89% of new hires were local, y and there are now 178 colleagues with disabilities, representing 14% of the total workforce in Spain. Overall,the company has 3,240 employees, from 47 different nationalities.
The company donated 223,260 kg of products to Food Banks and social causes, five times more than in 2023. Cerealto also developed initiatives in collaboration with organisations such as Fundación Secretariado Gitano, Doctors of the World and ASPAYM.
