The Audit was executed by AENOR and evaluated the Company’s performance in more than 100 items regarding economic, environmental and social sustainability.
Cerealto Siro Foods scored between 81-86 out of 100. The assessment highlighted the Company’s strong performance in Ethical Conduct, Innovation and Development, Circular Economy and Waste Management, People Management and Diversity, Stakeholders Management, Supply Chain and Contribution to Local Economy.
The Company’s performance in this audit echoed its sustainability model, which is based on creating trusting relationships, and its capacity to meet the expectations of its Clients, Employees, Suppliers, Society and Capital; while guaranteeing a balance between its economic growth, the protection of the environment and society’s welfare.
The new sustainability strategic lines for the upcoming years include: developing more nutritious and accessible products, promoting diversity and the labour inclusion of people with barriers to work, driving a sustainable agricultural model with the primary sector and implementing the circular economy within the business model. These lines are related to six Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
On another point, most of the Company’s social initiatives are organised through the Grupo Siro Foundation, which already has 5% share of the Group Cerealto Siro Foods.
The Sustainability Golden Rules is a tool promoted by the Spanish Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Foods to improve competitiveness in the food industry in Spain. It has been developed based on principles that imply a voluntary commitment from companies to improve performance in sustainability.
