Grupo Siro, Sand Consulting, Oretek, the Diputación of Albacete and the University of Deusto-Egibide have been awarded the first edition of the awards, given by ÁngelesHeras, Secretary of State for Universities, Research, Development and Innovation.
ABB and the Club of Excellence in Sustainability, have made known in an act held in Madrid the result of the first edition of the ABB Awards for best practice in digitalization, which recognizes the work of public and private entities in the development and application of digital technologies with the objectives of improve business competitiveness and the industrial fabric of Spain, the citizens’ access to public administration, employability or talent development, among other aspects.
The delivery of this first edition of the awards was chaired by Ángeles Heras, Secretary of State for Universities, Research, Development and Innovation, who has been accompanied by Marc Gómez, CEO of ABB in Spain and Portugal and Juan Alfaro, Secretary General of the Club of Excellence in Sustainability.
Committee of Honor and Jury
Under an Honor Committee formed by the Ministers Pedro Duque and Reyes Maroto and the Rectors of the University of Barcelona, Joan Elias and the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Guillermo Cisneros as well as the President of Microsoft in Spain, Pilar Álvarez and the Swedish Ambassador to Spain Lars-Hjalmar Wide, who wanted to support this first edition of the prizes, the jury of the prizes constituted by Teresa Risk, Director General of Research, Development and Innovation of the Government of Spain; Victor Robles, Vice-Chancellor of Technology Services of the Polytechnic University of Madrid; Ana Alonso, Director Sales Strategy for Microsoft EMEA, together with Ricardo Martín, Director of Communication and Institutional Relations of ABB in Spain, and Juan Alfaro, representing the Organizing entities have valued the projects taking into account the vision strategic focus of the project, the social and business impact of the initiatives, the consistency and permanence of the project over time, the replicability of model and the vision of the future, as well as the innovative character, the originality of the project and the existence of clear and measurable objectives and indicators of tracing.
Winners
In the category of large company, Grupo Siro, represented by its systems director Carlos Herrero, has received the award for its commitment to the digital transformation of the agri-food industry to be the most competitive food manufacturer and offer the products of higher quality at the best possible cost. In the category of SME, Sand Consultores has been awarded for its project “Zoom1t”, a system online that allows detecting cases of bullying, sexual abuse and precursory behaviors of gender violence as well as other types of harassment in primary and secondary schools. This project has already allowed – in its early stages – detect cases of bullying and others and act about more than 30,000 students in the more than 100 schools in which it has already implanted in Catalonia. The project manager Andrea Compagno and Santi Puyol, director of Sand Consutores have been responsible for collecting the award.
In the category of entrepreneurs and start up’s, Silvia Nieto, co-founder and CEO of Oretek has collected the award for the “Simulator Virtual of Commissioning “that allows to carry out the virtual start-up of the programming that controls and supervises an automation system, detecting design errors and errors in the early phases of the project, and reducing As a consequence, the time necessary for the actual start-up with the environmental benefits, social and economic savings that entails.
The president of the Diputación de Albacete, Santiago Cabañero has collected the award in the category of administration public by the SEDIPUALB @ platform as an integrated work environment that allows a completely digital processing of the management activity that performs a local administration.
Finally, the best practice in the development of digital talent has been for the Educational Center EGIBIDE and the University of Deusto, for its Degree in Digital Industry located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, which aims to train people with solid knowledge in the latest technologies that make up the industry 4.0 and its application strategic in industrial environments. The prize is awarded by the Director of Professional Training of EGIBIDE, Xabier López de Santiago, and Víctor Urcelay, Vice-Rector of Entrepreneurship and Continuing Education of the University of Deusto. In this category, the jury has also decided to award a special mention to IES Inventor Cosme García professor from Logroño, EugenioArgaiz Ruíz, for his online platform for automation and robotic-industrial learning.
